Let It Snow

Just what we wanted for Christmas - a white one.
Caden wanted to make a snow man so bad and I didn't think it would actually snow here, but it did and he got his wish!

He made a TEENY TINY snowman and threw a few TEENY TINY snowballs and it was a TEENY TINY bit of fun ;)

THE END.

Cooking Catastrophe

It's that special time of year EVERYONE gets busy making fun treats for their friends and family.

I totally wanted to join in on the fun.
My FRIEND suggested a really yummy easy treat and said that this is a recipe you just can't miss.
Okay, so the inexperienced treat-maker that I am, I thought it was a no-fail recipe I could handle, right?
WRONG!

Well, they were supposed to look like THIS or THIS ... but mine ended up looking like THIS:

I started out laughing ... and I had wanted some yummy treats so bad ... my laughter eventually turned into tears streaming down my face. What an utter failure. Lol.

The white-chocolate curdled instead of melting, and the milk-chocolate would only turn into frosting.

I was only left with a mess - and if you know me... I'm the girl who wouldn't finger-paint in Kindergarten because I can't stand to get my hands dirty!

Apparently this is a recipe you CAN miss.

So if you are wondering why I never make dinners or treats for people...please refer to this blog post and you will understand.
You probably wouldn't want any from me anyway.

***A special Thank You to my Hubby and Son who ate them anyway and pretended to like them.***

Happy Christmas

Yes indeed, we had a GREAT Christmas this year!
I'm so glad our kids are so easily satisfied!

- My handsome boy ready to tear into his gifts.

~ My girlie girl LOVES babies and was super happy with her stroller.

The bottle suckers were a big hit.
I didn't even tell Caden that there was sugar in the bottom part he could dip the top part into. Ha ha. Thought it would be too messy and he wasn't going to miss the extra sugar on top of sugar. Hee. Our little secret.

Check out their cute Christmas Monkey PJs :P

I'm sad the day is over - and there's only a week of no school left :(
I hope this week goes by more SLOWLY ;)

Our Wolf Adventure

Adam surprised us with a trip to The Great Wolf Lodge for Christmas this year. I wasn't sure it would be worth it since our kids are so little, but it was a success for all of us! Taking turns on the water-slides with Caden and prancing around in the wave-pool and splash-park with Ambree gave us all a good variety of fun :) As Caden said, "It was fabulous!"

We love our little wolf cubs!

My Star Student

I was FINALLY allowed in my son's classroom -

- for his Christmas Party.
And FINALLY my background check came through so I can be an approved volunteer at the school. Can't wait to be a part of the classroom more often.

The only reason I am able to handle him being gone from me all day is that he truly loves his teacher. Thank goodness for good teachers!

~ And thank goodness for a two week long Christmas break!
Let the FUN begin! ~

A Day At The Park

We have been taking advantage of our good days and our great neighborhood.

Gorgeous day at the park!

Caden ~ after-school-snacking in the sunshine.

Our Big Girl enjoying the park for the first time since she started walking.

--> Playing on the rocks. (Ambree's face cracks me up.)

We Love Christmas.

"It's the most wonderful time of the year"

"Oh Christmas Tree, How Lovely Are Your Branches"

My Caden boy is getting so tall!!!

Check out my Ambree's mischievous grin...
She's probably hiding a cricket in her mouth. Ha ha.

He's got a million dollar smile :D
She's got no patience for photos ;)

Aren't our kiddos so cute in front of our fire?

That's right, after all these years, this if the first time we used our fireplace since we moved here (almost three years ago). I asked Adam to make sure the chute was opened... Ha ha. But in his defense, we discovered there was TWO levers that needed to be pulled in order to completely open the flu. Who woulda thunk?
Caden discovered the smoke first, and then we discovered that all our smoke detectors work - and they are VERY loud. Ha.

Ambree did really well about not touching the fire. She just kept wanting to blow on it.
We roasted up some smores and they were DELICIOUS!
There's something magical about a fire in your very own fireplace :)

We went out to see Christmas lights around town and made a special surprise trip to this house:

Its lights were set to music and the big wreath in the middle was like a movie screen.

We let Caden get on the roof of the Xterra. Adam and I took turns being up there with him while Ambree danced her little booty inside the back of the car.

It turned out to be a very fun little family night!
